Cyberpunk 2077 advertising in the wake of mandatory overtime

Do not get caught, get away with everything.

Had it not been for Bloombergs revealing article on Tuesday, this advertisement would scoop firewood on the shark fire. Now it just feels sour, even though all our darling Keanu Reeves is involved in it.

It became known that employees on CD Projekt Red will squeeze in mandatory overtime hours until the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on November 19th. Despite the fact that the company’s managers last year (when crunch was a hot potato) promised to make CD Projekt Red a better workplace. With the board’s praise that Cyberpunk 2077 will not get another delay, the developer has probably shot themselves in the foot. Overtime is about polishing and optimization.

According to sources, overtime should be one sixth working day a week. On Twitter, an explanation was given from the studio’s head Adam Badowski that employees receive reasonable compensation plus a cake of the studio’s profits. But what is a person’s health and well-being worth? Adam Badowski seems humble to the decision and believes that it was not easy to make the decision.

In an industry where overtime is an unfortunate part of the business, employees at CD Projekt Red can at least take comfort in the fact that Polish labor laws in any case, make sure they get paid for the effort.
