Dawn of the Monsters is an upcoming title from WayForward (Shantae, Double Dragon Neon) and 13AM Games (Runbow, Double Cross) which is about big monsters (kaijuu) bumping into each other. If you ever play King of the Monsters or a number of the Godzillagames that exist, you know exactly what it’s talking about. The action also scrolls sideways and has support for company (ie more beat ’em up / brawler than arena fights). In other words, you and a polar bear can hump monsters together.
The world in Dawn of the Monsters is our own, and DAWN is an agency that protects it from oncoming attacks from Nephilim, ie enemy monsters. All the monsters you will be able to play that belong to DAWN and seem to be unique (maybe potential for Toho-oriented DLC in the future?). The four playable names include Megadon, Ganira, Aegis Prime and Tempest Galahad. In the basic game, over 35 missions are promised to play them with, and they take place everywhere from Japan to Canada.
Dawn of the Monsters released early next year and has a yummy trailer in the header. The sight is set on the platforms PC, PlaySation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. Physical releases will come later via Limited Run Games.
