Review: Resident Evil 3 Remake

This is how a remake will look!

When you see the latest crop of movie reviews I’ve written, they’re mostly either remakes, reboots or sequels. It is a steady trend to redo something that is already familiar to the audience. In film, it can many times turn out very wrong, such as the sad reboot of Ghostbusters or most recently the completely unnecessary sequel Terminator: Dark Fate. The game makers also want to watch the trend with remakes and reboots, but in the gaming industry it will be a little different. Because I can almost say with a hundred percent certainty that a game remake will be better than the original. As long as the original was a good idea from the start, of course. Such as, for example Duck Tales, from 1989 as 2013 was released in a remastered version with the real voices of the TV series and heated graphics. It couldn’t see, sound, or be better than that. Now I haven’t seen much of the reboot on the Duck Tales TV series (2017), but I can announce that it doesn’t have the same charm as the original series.

So when Capcom started making remakes on his Resident Evilseries I quickly opened my eyes to it, and now it’s time for it Resident Evil 3 (Nemesis, from 1999) to get a real face lift.

Resident Evil 3 picks up the baton after part two and we get to play through Jill Valentines life-threatening journey through the zombie-filled city. She has helped her Carloswho, like her, does everything to survive. But there is a being out there that is bigger and more dangerous than anyone could ever believe …

Capcom has really not saved on the powder when it comes to refreshing Resident Evil 3; the graphics are unbelievably good looking and I had the opportunity to experience it in 4K on the editor’s Xbox One X and the latest Panasonic OLED. It plays out to a large extent in dark environments and things like fire, light and other elements look absolutely fabulous. The zombies are well made and we can see every pore and dirt on our main characters. So a lot has happened on the graphics front since 1999.

The game designers have also worked on updating the game mechanics, but the courses still feel very limited compared to today’s games – so this has not happened so much. Of course, you want to create a game like that reminds about the original, but it feels a bit mossy and old. Then parts of the document have been moved to other places and also are Resident Evil 3– remake a little shorter than the original. I personally have a lot of trouble for Resident Evil-zombians, who seem to endure as much as possible. In other games, they die anyway after a shot in the head. They can withstand at least two or three…

In summary, it was still fun to relive Resident Evil 3, in modern fashion, when it is a good story and a well-crafted craft. But unfortunately, the age still feels; when they are tight, short “paths” with quite a lot of running back and forth. It comes with an online mode where there are four people trying to get off a course created by the fifth player. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sadistic game leaders out there who do everything to make it as impossible as possible and if you want to create tracks yourself, you have to wait a good while for your turn. With all this said, I would still recommend Resident Evil 3-the remake for it is still quite many hours of excitement and action, with exquisite graphics.
